THRILLER Drill- and thread milling tool "BGF"
Drilling, chamfering and thread milling in one operation

A revolutionary method of producing a thread by using the CNC technology. A combined "THRILLER" thread milling tool for drilling, chamfering and thread milling in one operation.

As one of the leading manufacturers, we have reached an optimised production standard for this technology.

As a standard, we offer you two types: our thriller drill milling tool "BGF" with a rear chamfering tool for thread lengths of 1.5xD, 2.0xD and 2.5xD. For other thread lengths, our universal Thriller Drill- and thread milling tool "UBGF" with a rear and front chamfering tool can be used.

We offer you the THRILLER Drill- and thread milling "BGF" in the following cutting materials:

Schematic sequence:
Drilling, chamfering and thread milling with "BGF", conventional milling
  1. Approach
  2. Drilling and chamfering
  3. Withdraw
  4. Radial setting to nominal thread diameter - positioning loop
  5. Forward advance around the pitch with simultaneous circulation of the tool around the centre axis of the thread
  6. Radial movement back to the bore centre - retraction loop
  7. Reverse stroke from the finished thread bore

Advantages:

  • Threaded hole production time is reduced by up to 50% thanks to high cutting speed and combined operations
  • Saving on tool change times and tool changes
  • Excellent material surface by variation of the cutting parameters
  • Exact pitch
  • Short milling chips (no chip problem compared to cutting taps)
  • One tool for blind and through holes
  • One tool for right- and left-handed threads
  • Less tool magazine slots necessary
  • No chip rests in the bottom of the thread hole
  • Low cutting pressure when working on thin-walled pieces
  • Exact thread depth
  • Core hole and thread are exactly concentric

Correction of the flank angles makes it possible to achieve a precise work piece thread.

Varying the cutting parameters of thread milling has a direct effect on the surface quality of the thread and the tool life.
